Lawsuits Against The Lord’s Ranch
There have been a large number of complaints from patients and families alleging that the staff at The Lord’s Ranch abused them.
In November 2023, several victims filed a lawsuit alleging they were subjected to sexual, psychological, and physical abuse as children at the Christian church camp known as The Lord’s Ranch.
Lawsuits are currently being filed against not only The Lord’s Ranch but related entities, owner Ted Suhl, and other former staff members.
A lawsuit states that “Children at the Lord’s lived in constant fear, knowing that they were alone in a remote, unfamiliar environment far from home and at the complete mercy of a sadistic staff,” the lawsuit said. “For many children, survival meant compliance with the physical and sexual abuse.”
The lawsuit claims Suhl and others at the ranch made an “intentional, fully conscious decision” to allow the abuse to occur and threatened victims who spoke up.
As a result, lawsuits are currently being filed to help compensate victims and their families for their suffering. There is an urgent January 2024 deadline to file lawsuits under a recent Arkansas law that extended the statute of limitation on child sex abuse cases.
Anyone who was sexually abused or sexually assaulted at The Lord’s Ranch, regardless of when the abuse occurred, may soon be eligible for significant compensation as long as they file their claim before January 31st.
It’s common for victims of sexual assault and sexual abuse to discount the fact that they’ve been hurt by a person that they trust, such as a counselor, or they might feel ashamed, embarrassed, and scared to tell others about the abuse.
If you or a loved one have experienced sexual assault, unwanted sexual advances, inappropriate sexual touching, or psychological or physical abuse, you or your loved one should receive help and seek justice.
Although we know that even 7-figure compensation can’t erase a life-altering event, or heal the pain, it can at least help reduce the financial stress and help hold offenders and their employers accountable to help prevent future abuse.
